FALMOUTH, Maine — Expanding access to workforce housing in Falmouth remains a priority for our community, and we were honored to host State Representative Amy Kuhn and Senator Teresa S. Pierce at the Scittery Woods Townhomes site for a recent tour of the development.
As construction progresses, the visit provided an opportunity to share updates on the project and its role in creating attainable homeownership opportunities in Falmouth. Representative Kuhn also shared her perspective on the importance of projects like this for local communities:
Scittery Woods is designed as a 48-unit, owner-occupied townhome community with a focus on attainable pricing and long-term stability. Homes are priced at $378,000 and $425,000 and are available to buyers earning up to 120% of the HUD Area Median Income for the Greater Portland region.
Designed for Attainable Living
Each townhome includes two bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, and an open-concept layout suited for modern living. Additional features include a dedicated washer and dryer closet, a private deck and yard, and an extra-deep one-car garage. These design choices prioritize both functionality and comfort for everyday use.
Energy-Efficient Workforce Housing in Falmouth
The homes are built with energy efficiency in mind, incorporating super-insulated walls, electric heat pumps, and modern appliances. Construction is designed to meet or exceed Maine’s latest energy code standards. The development also includes preserved greenspace, walking trails, and a 75-foot wetland setback to help maintain the natural surroundings.
