GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR SCITTERY WOODS TOWNHOMES DEVELOPMENT
Scittery Woods Townhomes offers workforce housing at attainable prices
FALMOUTH, Maine – A groundbreaking ceremony, hosted by the Town of Falmouth and Scittery Woods Partners, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 6th, for Scittery Woods Townhomes, 2 Marshall Drive, Falmouth. Scittery Woods Townhomes is a 48-unit townhouse development designed specifically to address the growing need for workforce housing in Falmouth.
This opportunity aligns with Falmouth Town Council’s goal of increasing housing choices with more affordable options. The Town acquired the site years ago for the construction of a police station and future housing. The police station was built in 2008 and the Town sought proposals from developers in 2024 to construct workforce housing, awarding the project and selling the property to Scittery Woods Partners. Many current and past town councilors, staff, and citizen committees worked on this effort prior to partnering with Scittery Woods Partners.
Scittery Woods Townhomes is the first project developed by Scittery Woods Partners, an entity with three members: Andy Hyland, President of Port City Architecture; John Finegan, Associate Broker at The Boulos Company; and Mike Manning, President of MGM Builders.
The townhomes feature 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and a one-car garage with extra storage space. Units will be sold at $378,000 or $425,000 and will be sold to owners who earn at or below 120% of the Area Median Income. Presales have started and all transactions are being handled by Anne Hyland of Portside Real Estate Group. Interested buyers can contact Anne via email at [email protected].
The first units are scheduled to be delivered in Summer 2026, with new units coming online every month thereafter until the project is completed in 2027.
Scittery Woods Townhomes was made possible due to the combined vision and efforts of the Town of Falmouth, MaineHousing, who awarded the project partial financing through its Affordable Homeownership Program, and Norway Savings Bank, the primary lender for the project.
